I'm using a 1TB hard disk.
I already filled it with 320GB of video clips (about 5000) and 200 GB of musics (28000 songs).

I have a 500gb but recently trimmed it all back from approx. 280gb of albums to 120gb but still rebuilding has I was having slow search result problems

180gb music and vids.

last look it was over 10,000

mixed avi mp4(1080p) 128 mp3s and 320kbps

the 320kbps don't seem to cause an issue other than louder better clearer sound, the 1080ps can stall for a second but that's computer rather than video box.

It has become a little bit of an obsession :) to make it as perfect as possible

I win, i have 1x1TB for software, adverts and non changing music categories (60's, 70's, 80's & 90's) and 1x3TB for all other music.

I will stress though all of my files are HD videos and are of the highest quality so I may have 4gb but that won't reflect on the amount of music I hold.
