Moveable License
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:51:32 PM »
One thing Steve, are you still going to do a moveable license on Videobox at all? I will have some money in tomorrow and want to purchase the single license version, and also the skin studio, but I do not want to use this computer for videobox, I am looking at buying a jukebox. So that will be the main computer then.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

We already have a moveable license version available, it's called 'Videobox Pro', you can see it here:- http://jukeblaster.com/index.php?page=detail&get_id=19&category=

Hi Steve,

Yep already seen that but at £99.00 it's a bit rich. You did say somewhere recently that you and Bry was talking about whether to just have a portable license for the same price as the standard version.

I did purchase Skin Studio last night, to which I am a bit disappointed with it if I am honest, as you cannot do much apart from drag and drop icons and add colour schemes.

So every skin is pretty much going to look in the same fashion. It would be good for some slight movement in the skinning, to give an example the confirmation button.

Having the confirm button moveable to a defined location, being able to have artist name on one line, then song choice on another, moving the confirm and deny button closer together.

The same would be for the search, being able to add custom graphics to the search box, being able to move it to a custom location.

I would have to add another negative to the software is that it does not read tag files, unlike millions of other programs. Having to use filename fixer which has been labelled as dangerous software to use is a bit mmmm.

My biggest bug bear though as I have not seen otherwise, is having to keep having rounded genre labels, this should be optional as I have great graphics for the folder options, and yet they do not look right being round.

I shall have a proper play sometime either today or this weekend, I have had to move to my 19 inch touchscreen as having it on a 42 inch TV means that a lot of the screen is not visible.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

Thanks for your input, I'l try to commet on a few of your points best I can...

You are right I am having talks with our Bry about the future of VBX Pro but there is no agreement just yet, as for the price well its prety much in line with other similar products and I reckon it only looks expensive when you compair it with our other offerings which I think are a little on the cheap side perhaps.

As for Skin Studio well It was designed with simplicity in mind and drag & drop is as simple as it gets, but I reckon if you spend some time with it you will start to realise the possibilities  :D.

Videobox...
The latest version does indeed read track tags, yey  ;D
And rounded or square categories is optional, just have a look in the admin panel  ;D

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your reply. I am still on demo version, so I cannot go to advanced options at the moment. I downloaded 3.6 last night, but most of it was the same, as the demo 2 version.

I could buy this software now, but I do not want to purchase just to play about and have to buy another license for the final install.

At the moment my fastest PC is my home cinema PC, I want to do specialised builds, or rather I want to purchase a jukebox and then install the software on.

I have been in the market for jukebox software for a while, ever since I got in to touch screen technology, yet I am held back by not being able to have things mounted on walls, blame the landlord.

I already have one very good package which is $35 moveable license, lifetime updates. I can download a free jukebox which is reasonably similar too this.

However I have something inside of me that says that this is something that with moulding can be great.

I will make a purchase, but not yet I need to wait till a final build computer, if that is in six months time, then I will wait. I would sooner just do one install and job done. If I purchase now and six months down the line you bring out a new version, then I have lost out by purchasing now rather than when I am ready for it.

I am a psychic, and I forsee a boozy weekend coming up, so I shall will probably look more at skin studio on Monday now, sadly that has to be on my slower puter as that has the 20" monitor hooked up to it.

This software has potential, but stop listening to a bloody northerner, they are tighter than a ducks backside lol

Regards

Mark
