************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I've also emailed it to you mate..........hope its something simple :)

Hmm, puzzler

Looks like there was an error creating the main screen on your computer, strange.
are you using a 32 or 64 bit windows system ?
what service packs are installed ?.
is the .NET framework 3.5 sp1 installed ?.
Can you give any info on when the error occurs (how can I recreate the error).

I've been playing with a new install of KJX here and had no problems (on 32bit Vista).
In the mean time you could destroy your config file with our JBP software tool in case its a dud setting in your settings file.

32bit XP, 3.5 netframe.

The error occurs when i double click the karaokebox icon to open the exe.......pretty much immediately. I'll try the .config trick, I have an old version of jukeblaster on ths lappy that could be screwing with it .

Gimme a sec mate :)

yeah no good steve, i deleted karaokebox fully, deleted juke blaster, deleted .config for both programs..... then reinstalled karaokebox.

I even tried reinstalling .netframework, karaoke directx and flash player.

No go sadly :(

Hi Stampy

I dont know then it works ok here, could it be something to do with it being a laptop maybe ?, it works on my laptop but its a dual core vista 32bit.

Could you try it on another PC perhaps ?,  and see if that cures it for you  :D, any feedback will be appreciated.

ok i tried it on another comp and it worked fine.....so it must be my lappy for some reason.

Now...........i've had a little play and its not quite what i expected, i thought it'd be a combination of videobox and karaoke, meaning i could use it the same as i'm using videobox right now then i could add my karaoke files also and there'd be a little button that changed the scroll down catagories to karaoke files or something.

Even better would be a music button at the top for mp3s and a karaoke button for cdgs......clicking whatever button would give you functions for playing music files only or karaoke songs :)

How would i go about sorting my songs out if i was to put them into catorgories at the moment....sorry guys my brains not working at all. If i change my JBP folder name to karaoke, that should add all my mp3s, catagories etc, then i'm guessing i'd have to add another catagorie called karaoke and put all my cdgs in there.

I'm thinking then customers could just use the books i hand out with all the songs in them and go straight to the search feature in the program or i could make individual folders for each artist as a sub catagorie.

ahhhhhhh i'll play with it tomorrow :)

errrrr hang on a sec, i changed my karaoke folder to JBP and i get all the artists and folder pics etc, but when i try to play a song it says unavailable??

Does karaokebox not play regular mp3s or movies??

Hi Stampy

karaoke Jukebox is for Karaoke tracks only (mp3+G).
Title: Re: Trial download
Post by: stampy69 on April 15, 2012, 02:22:22 PM
ahhhh well, thats no good then :(

DAMN!!

I'm wondering if i could install both programs on each machine and get front end like simple touch to give users the choice between music and karaoke when the machine is fired up.

just curious....why did you guys make it only work for cdg's and not all formats???

Hi Stampy

I might get our Bry to make a small program to switch between Videobox & Karaoke jukebox at some point (hes a little busy at the moment with updates).

As for the karaoke formats, its early days yet, this is only the 1st release of Karaoke Jukebox, we may see more formats in the future.

cheers mate, it'd be perfect if karaokebox played all formats.......hopefully its not too far away, i'll have to work something else out as a backup plan till then :D

just make the update so karaokebox can play mp3s and you wont have to ask him :D :D

Hi Stampy

You can't mix karaoke and mp3's mate, we tried it (disaster), karaoke works in a diffrent way than a jukebox does, with karaoke you have a screen on stage for lyrics but then you need a selection screen away from the stage, and dont forget that people take time to come up and sing, thats why Karaoke Jukebox has an adjustable interval or 'countdown' that you can set, also with karaoke people like to enter their name, again this is available in Karaoke Jukebox. (also check the additional remote functions to extend or decrease the interval)

On another note, The Karaoke Jukebox BGM works in a diffrent way to a jukebox, have you noticed how that works yet ?.

All I'm saying is that any software that plays both Karaoke and also acts as a Jukebox would be a poor compromise in our opinion, and thats why they are separate, test them both for a little longer 'on site' and you will see  :D

Title: Re: Trial download
Post by: stampy69 on April 21, 2012, 07:46:30 AM
not quite sure what you mean when you say poor compromise, its exactly what my customers are asking for....the abilty to be able to play normal mp3s as a jukebox and the occasional karaoke song inbetween.

i see what your saying about people needing time to come up and sing, but surely you could set it up so karaoke/cdg files take priority over mp3s so as soon as they select a karaoke song it plays next in the que so the selecter is still standing there and hasnt had time to walk away.

failing that a little program to switch between karaokebox and videobox would be great.........what are the chances of that happening??
Title: Re: Trial download
Post by: Steve on April 21, 2012, 06:55:50 PM
Lol, its not as easy as 'setting it up', but I know what you mean  ;D, as I said there's every chance that we could do a little switcher program at some point.
Title: Re: Trial download
Post by: stampy69 on April 23, 2012, 04:34:52 PM
i downloaded simpletouch fe today and had a llittle play with making my own switching program.........sadly simpletouch has a pretty shitty looking skin but the potential to make it work was definately there.

essentially what i'm after is a screen like this (attachment) that loads at startup of windows, each button obviously opens videobox or karaokebox, then some sort of "always on top" button that closes whichever program you originally choose and takes you back to the karaoke/jukebox options screen.

I've got a mate who reckons he could do this no problems but he's overseas at the moment so i have to wait 3 weeks for him to get back :(

Think theres a front end and sheller program one of our members have put on here http://home.online.no/~llindga/

yep thats the one i'm using :D

I emailed Lars last night and said its quite easy to setup however his software is not licenced for commercial use.
Title: Re: Trial download
Post by: stampy69 on April 24, 2012, 09:50:20 PM
ok so i got that my skin working perfectly and added karaokebox (trial only) and videobox to each button, its works perfectly but whats its missing is a switch button or power off button, basically i have to run in windows mode then use the "X" in the top right corner to close the program and return to the main menu.

any chance i can get a hidden power off button added, say one that pops up with a key cobination like shift+P, i'll need it to work in party mode only as coin mode will be strictly for juke functions and not karaoke.

another work around i can use it to set the power option on the remote to close video box only, this returns straight back to the main menu also.
