Hi.
I try trial version of software to connect cctalk coin acceptor to PC. All wires like in scheme. I use USM-COM adapter Prolific PL2303 and Silicon Labs CP210x. In software coin acceptor detected (I try to connect EMP800, NRI G-13, SR3, Microcoin SP). But then software writes: failed to map coin. What does it mean? What can I do to connect coin acceptor to software?
Thanks.

Hi xmiker
'Failed to map coin' means the coin acceptor did not reply (timeout).
Can you show some pictures of your wiring to the SR3 ?.

Hi.
Thank you for your answer.
I think maybe SR3 not in CCTalk protocol? But I try some another coin acceptors: EMP, Microcoin SP.

Hi xmiker
Ok, wiring looks correct, 2 things to try...
1. check your comm port is set to 9600 baud rate
2. change usb cable to this one:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-to-RS232-TTL-PL2303HX-ble-Adapter-COM-Module-Converter-Adapter-Arduino-/322099557451?hash=item4afea1344b:g:HPUAAOSwEjFXfqVQ

that rs232 adapter in picture 3 is wrong
it probably has wrong voltage may damage the sr3, it might be giving out 9v wich is too much, u need the prolific PL2303HX which gives 5v (logic level output).

Hi.
Com port - 9600.
My USB-COM is Prolific PL2303HXD.
Is it different from PL2303HX?
Can I connect directly to COM-port without USB converter?
-
Stupid question ))) I need MAX232 to connect to COM directly.

You need USB to TTL (5v), comport is higher voltage

Hi.
Yesterday I tried connect coinacceptor via Circuit 1 - ccTalk Standard Interface (from CCTalk documentation part 3). Coinacceptor EMP800 is working fine.

very goo d then maybe that usb lead gives ttl level outputs
