Hi,
I'm looking to build my own jukebox awith a windows 7 spec machine, my system meets all the recommended cpu, ram etc. but the trial version I downloaded from here is 3.6.0 and stalls at the initialisation/initialising (white screen) page.
Any help greatly appreciated

Hi lobsterlee
I cant think why it would hang like that, did you let it sit a while just in case its just pc going slow ?.
Did you install the .NET framework 3.5 ?
-
Hi & thanks for the prompt reply...
I just uninstalled and tried another fresh install... the .net framework (once clicked) now says unzipping (not responding!) but the unzip status bar is complete?!
Ie not come across this sort of problem before.
regards

Ok, install the .NET framework 3.5sp1 from here:- https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=22

Ok, before I do I have checked and I already have .net framework 4.5.1 installed ... Do I remove that and start again?
-
Installing 4.5 may have disabled 3.5, do you want me to take a look see if i can get you going ?, (remote session).

Hi,
Thanks for the offer I've had just had to pop out for a bit... I think the reason for the white screen was it was trying to load over wifi... (All my music files are on a mad drive)... I have now connected via Ethernet and it has finally got rid of the white screen but the music loaded is taking a while!... Everything appears sluggish (2gb ram)... I might need to upgrade my system I fear...
-
Yeah sounds like you need more ram, a good video card helps too, gimme a shout if you get stuck :-)

Thanks again,
Finally loading ok(ish).. White screen for a while but I'm guessing this is because I have 10k songs on my nas drive and its reading/updating the library...
Even when I removed videobox and completed a fresh install it was still taking ages as the directory is still pointing to my nas drive!....
Onece loaded everything is super quick except the search facility... And it does not appear to return all that it should?!
I've upped the ram to 4gb this morning but not home til 6pm to test again.... Just wondered if there was a trial of the std Jukeblaster software (without video features etc) just in case it's my PCs spec... Cheers

Hi lobster
The only trial we have at the moment is the one you are using, I think the slowness is probably down to your music library not being organized as per the manual or because its on another drive etc, or it could be that your gfx card is not up to the job ?, hard to say really when I cant see the setup you have.
