Owned videobox for a few years and has always been rock solid. Recently had to reinstall windows due to a HDD failure. Currently running windows 7 (as it was previously) and videobox 2.8.0.0. Since the new HDD, windows installation and the re-installation of videobox I now find videobox crashing, it just randomly shuts down videobox with no error displayed.
Should I update? Can I update from my version of videobox? And does it need to be connected to the internet for the update?

Hi sparky
Yes, my advice would be to update to the latest version, your version is realy old.

To update is it a clean install or just a straight update? Should I uninstall the old version first?

Heya Sparky,
Personally i would Update to the latest version of Videobox. its alot more sturdier.
however to my knowledge you may need to purchase a "Legacy Conversion Service" from http://www.jukeblaster.com/index.php?page=detail&get_id=17&category= (http://www.jukeblaster.com/index.php?page=detail&get_id=17&category=) (i was advised to purchase a "Legacy Conversion Service")
Currently the latest build of Videobox is 3.9.7.9 (I think).

Good advice from Laurence, I would go for a clean install with latest version.
or, maybe a an opportunity to try 'Pub Jukebox' instead ?:- http://jukeblaster.com

Excellent advice, thanks for the help.
I had actually already purchased Pub Jukebox to install on a different system to compare.
But wanted to stick with Videobox for this particular setup. I'll do the Legacy Conversion, so glad I asked quaestions before just jumping in.
