Post by: stampy69 on March 05, 2012, 01:59:20 AM
hey guys i'm just curious..........i noticed that when my songs play videobox uses windows media player visualisations, so i added some new cool ones check em out here>

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player/visualizations (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player/visualizations)

The psychedelic viz pic is unreal!!!

Just wondering if anyone knows of anymore cool ones??

just install the visuals (download to desktop and click the exe, it'll self install)...........then open media player and play a song, right click where the visuals play and choose whatever one you like...then close media player and open videobox and the visual you chose in media player will play when you'r playing tracks :D

I have found that some visuals dont work with media player 9, but a simple upgrade to 11 fixed them.

Hi Guys

Here's how it works, VBX uses or 'calls' the same underlying windows components & codecs that media player uses to play media files, so when you change the vizualization in media player it alters the windows registry, and so the next time VBX calls the files it uses the same registered viz.

Nice. Thanks for clearing that up.
I think this is another good sales point Steve. How come we never heard of this before?
I haven't played with visualizations or multi monitor yet, been too busy organising my music library, I'm now wondering how visuals work with dual monitor setup??

Hi Dj

Visuals show in the main content panel, second monitor is only for videos & Ad's.

I'm using picviz at the moment and i put about 100 "FAIL" pictures in........gives you something to look at while songs play and everyone is cracking up laughing

Quite a good combination for parties :)
