Coin Acceptor Going To Sleep
« on: June 25, 2025, 06:41:32 PM »
Good Evening,
I'm using Coin Kit connected to a Money Controls SR3 Coin Acceptor via a Adafruit USB to TTL Serial Cable.
It has worked flawlessly for over 6 years, I had not used it for a while, so I decided to check it on another PC, It all seemed ok.
When I reinstalled it in it's original PC, it seemed to be working OK. BUT, it seems that if NO coins are inserted for an hour or so, it goes to sleep/disconnect. If I cycle the power on the Coin Acceptor, Coin Kit sees it again and it starts working normally. Anyone come across this before ?

Cheers
Tony

There's no setting for any sleep mode in Coin Kit as far as I know, my best guess is to check the pc power saving options, I think there are options to turn off peripherals after a set time, maybe something like that...

I knew it was not CoinKit or my system, was looking to see if anyone had experienced a Coin Acceptor Going To Sleep, Firmware issues.
Sorted now, thanks
