Dj, You wouldnt have the tools to compile the images into a skin file, but I realy would like to get you going with some skins, I will ask our Bry if he can knock up a template or something so that you could submit your images to us for compilation, would that be helpfull I wonder ?.

hey thats sounds great if they let you lose with a template ;D
i use a rf remote with remapping software so what ever vjb key commands are available
i can simply remap the remote to it not sure if you can do that with steves remote kit

John, our remote doesnt need any remapping, it just works with all the commands right out of the box, no programming required yey ;D
Ps: dont get excited about the prospect of a template, I havn't put it to our Bry yet, it will be up to him. (I hope he goes for it though :))

i dont have the time to create a user friendly template thata i can relese to everyone but if dj4nrv wants to hav a go at a few skins i could loan him the mockup program that i use to gather the required images but i have to warn that its is buggy and dificult to use
If dj4 wants to have a go let me kno and i will give some guidance on whats needed and how it works

What's this mockup program ? Is it a compiler? Or is it just to give you an idea of how the images look together?
Only when Steve said about submitting all the images I weren't sure how easy it would be to get it right.
I know there's a bit of trial error needed when putting themes together and weren't sure if I'd get it right first time.
So would this at least allow me to see a kinda preview of how it all looks once together?

yeah there s a lot of trial n error
its just a mockup tha looks like videobox i knocked it up over a w/end so its a bit rough its not for genral release lol
the prog will giveyou an idea how it will look when is done but the problems you will have is understanding what is allowed and what is not
forinstance some panels can have an image some canot, somecan have transparency when som its not alowed etc
also the images should be optimised for quick loading thats the size in kb not the phisical size
you also have to choose colors for text and choose a base them for the window and back end etc
just of top ofe my head i would say there are 30 images give or take, ones that are not used shoul be transparent they can not be missing
if you are still up for it I will cobble a download together this wekend for u ok

ok mate I will sort it out for you on sat or sun, monday at latest
one other rule i should mnention I hope u r takin notes cos there aint no instructions :-) you must use the exact same image filenames that I use
you cannot name the images for exampl 'myimage1.png' you will need to name them just like i do because my compiler is set to recognise the image names ok, an example would be 'UpButtonPaneIimage.gif', it does not have to be a .gif but it must be named 'UpButtonPaneIimage' if that is the name I use
try to use .png & .gif image types, u can use animated gif on buttons only
I will advise you of any problems and try to fix any anomolies
ps: dont try to open or edit any of the other files in the skin apart from t images or it wil corrupt the build

after a couple of hours of playing, heres where im at so far. Nothings final though , just figuring things out.
Bry could you give me the EXACT dimesions of the panel on the far left that contains the Popular and back buttons please?
it doesnt seem to be in the New theme folder??

I've decided to go all out and make all the images myself ;D so its taking me a bit longer.
But I think I'm gettin there.
I do have a little issue with the bottom of the categories bar?? It makes it a little hard to figure out how exactly it will look there. But I can live with that.

theres no rush jus take your time with it cause you will forget something
onething i noticed today is that before u click the package resources u havr to make sure that all the images are set to either tile center or strech or it inserts a null value into the settings file

i no , unfortunatley iv had a bit of a bad weekend , iv got most the graphics done now though.
Im not happy with the play select part i did and still got to resize a few bits but its pretty much done.

Helloo, I'm back.
Iv tried to carry on with my theme a couple of times ,but my theme compiler tool thingy isn't working no more ?
It gives me a windows error (can't remember exactly at mo)
I think I did a reinstall the other week , but I backed up the whole mockup folder first?
I honestly can't remember it was an install or just ran like a 'portable' .exe?
Any ideas??

hmm coul be th e license file corrupted it detcts a reinstall as a fraud attempt
i attached a new one for u.. :)

Its still not working bry.
i dont know what ive done but if i delete the licence file and try to run the mockup program it give me the message-
"The software wont run without a valid licence file.Either a valid licence file could not be found or your licence file is expired"
If put in the licence file i get the windows message "JBP MockupTemplate has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
could you tell me the requirements for the mockup program ?? or what else needs to be installed ??

So I extracted the mockup program on a second pc and redownloaded the licence, but same outcome there too..?
Since the 1/5/12 is the date it gives in the message with the original mockup licence on a second pc, and still gives the windows error on the second pc with the new licence??
Maybe this theme just weren't meant to be? :'(
