Black Screen when running video box
« on: November 04, 2015, 09:54:16 PM »
Hey all,
First of all, cracking program - the whole family love it!

Unfortunately recently when trying to run videobox the license screen shows then the screen stays on a black screen. Task manager shows the program is still running rather than not responding, and I have tried updating flash player and the don't framework, plus I've also tried deleting the user config file, which fixed it the once before it started happening again.

I know in another topic it also says to reinstall the program but unfortunately I cannot seem to find the original install files.

Any help anyone could provide would be very much appreciated! =)

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason

A black screen you say, hmmm not seen that one before, can you show a screenshot or is it just literally a blank screen with no writing or anything ?.

What Os ?

Do you hear any music when the blank screen shows ?

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your quick response!

Yeah it's literally a black screen, no error codes, window edges or anything. No sound either, but if I kill the task it goes back to the desktop.

Another idea I had was to try a System Restore, but somehow the only point I can restore to says today when the issue came about a couple of weeks ago. I know this is more of am OS issue than the software but I thought I'd explain each step in case I've inadvertently ballsed it up!

Event viewer has .Net errors too but it seems repairing v2.0 and installing 3.5 and 4.0 hasn't helped. OS is Windows XP (don't judge but I live by the philosophy if it ain't broke don't fix it! =P)

I'm not too bad when it comes to computers, although I admit to being no expert; buttons has me stumped!

Thanks for your time,

Jason

Sounds like a tricky one, its hard to say without seeing the problem so if you like i can give you a remote desktop session on Saturday to have a look for you.
If you would like that just let me know and I will send you some instructions.
