Problem: You scan your music files and go back to the user interface put there are no tracks there.
Probable cause: Your music files may have 'invalid' or 'ilegal' characters in the there 'Tags'.
Look at your music files in windows explorer (in 'List' view), and you may see odd shapes like squares or triangles etc.

Hi all. Just wondering if anybody else has come across this problem.
Jukebox had a corrupt music libary today and would not operate, on inspection in the music folder not just the artits but composer section of the tag had these little squares next to them
Went through them all and deleted them, now working perfect again lol, strange

"Cannot load music to Pub Juke"
All appears to be loading correctly, except for 'genres diverse' which has a 'no' next to it.
How can I select and correct this? It does not seem to be allowing me to?
Also is there a way you can select a track in Music Manager that is working and edit it?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Andrew
The Genres Diverse 'NO' just means that you don't have a lot of different genres, its not a deal-breaker but you should try to organise your music files into as many different genres as you can. Genres Diverse will not stop you using Pub Jukebox.
"Also is there a way you can select a track in Music Manager that is working and edit it?"
I dont understand this, please explain the problem that you have editing a music file in Music Manager.

Hi Steve
It seems like you can only open sound files and edit them, when I try to open video files (MPEG Video File) nothing happens. It will not open.
The same with PJB...it will load sound files but not video files. I just loaded music into VideoBox without a problem.

Ok, you say-> "you can only open sound files and edit them". what program are you opening the audio files with is it PJ or MM ?, and you say -> "nothing happens. It will not open", please explain your procedure to open the files so that I can try it.
-
Ok he we go...in MM Add tracks, Scan a track, open MPGE then nothing. In PJ Tab, System admin, Music Scan music files "select" Music (E:) "select" Music "folder" OK Select Continue start at %0 then stop.
I hope this is helpful.

What is "MPGE" ?.
Are there any files in your E:\Music ?
-
Hi Steve
I have been playing around today with MM. I converted mpg files using Handbrake to mpg4 and wmv format and MM picked up them with no problem.
The supplier of new music in Australia only supplies in mpg.
Is there any way MM and PJB play mpg files? I cannot get these file formats to work.

Could you send me one of the mpg's that do not work ?, so that I can examine it.
put it in a zip.
-
Ok Andrew, forget my last post (to send a file), I've just been informed that MPG files dont support tagging, so you will have to convert them to MP4's so that you can tag them.
-
Hi Steve
Thank you for all your help...Send file or ready.

Thanks Andrew, sorry I couldnt be more help with the files but it looks like the MPG's just can't be tagged :-/

Hi all,
Just a update with my dodgy music files,
Same again this morning so i had to go through them and delete those squares so jukebox would work properly,
Im going to install jukebox on another pc of mine with the same music and see what happens
-
can I download a trial version without purchase?
just so I can see if the problem occurs on my other pc with the same music, was going to set it up the same as my jukebox, as much as I can and go from there,
struggling now to find a solution,
everytime I look in my music folder some more of my files are corrupt and I don't know why :( :( :(
-
Yes
-
Just an idea, why not use Filename Fixer to remove the offending character from your files all in one go ?. :D
-
The thing is they keep reappearing on different tunes, crazy, i go through them every day and delete more aah. Think it might be something to do with my old xp system
