Title: Improper Windows Xp Shutdown.
Post by: reno on March 14, 2016, 08:01:02 PM
Hey Guys need some advice here.  I am having major problems with the renters of my jukebox where their employees donot shutdown my Jukebox which is running Window xp properly.   In most case i believe they just pull the plug out.
I though I solve the problem by installing a APC UPS with shut down software, but i am still having startup problems or if it do startup and load the jukebox software it runs unstable.
Question:
1)Should i have the hibernation option Checked in the power options properties?
2) Is there any other methods to safe guard against software malfunction due to windows not being shutdown properly.

Most of the time windows will not start.  And at the bio screen i would have to press f2 to continue so that windows will start up.
Should  I enable Hibernation or disable it  in the power options in regards to the UPS safely Shutting down the system when power is cut

Unfortunatly this is a problem with the Microsoft windows operating system.
Our software can now survive a windows crash or being unplugged.

Personally I would disable hibernation, we have an Xp machine here that we never shutdown properly...  we just unplug it! (for fun) and it never fails to startup :-)
