iPac

Hey,
Just started using video box and is great, not sure about my old coin slot though, tried connecting it tonight with the coin slot but can't get to register on video box! Using a ipac board and the coin is going through, pc recognises the ipac board aswell! No credits though! Aah!
Any ideas?
Doxy

Hey Steve, ipac is communicating with the pc, just the coin mech has decided to stop working, think I lost a 5v diode on the power supply when I've been ripping things to bits :(

Cheers

Good thing about the Kim board was that it had the zenners already on the board, quite a good unit.
Anyway, hope you get your ipac going when your diodes arrive

:'( think I've solved my little prob, after purchasing a new coin mech, which may I add still not working, I don't think my ipac likes windows 7, although the led lights up on the ipac and the pc recognises it it is not sending a power signal to the coin mech? Why I don't know! Tried with another laptop with 7 on it, still no power but if I plug the ipac into a pc with xp on it the coin mech powers up! Strange I know, anybody else have any ideas? Aaaah

i dont get it if this is a stand alone jukebox wich i take it is involving a coin mech
why not use xp its more simpler and is more coin mech freindly and easy to remap
keys 7 is cool but not for a jukebox
i recomend tiny xp its got a lot stuff removed from the pro version and if its a
100% jukebox and no reason for internet connection just mp3 files  its ideal
dont get it with 7 why make life so hard unless im missing something and
you need to run it on 7  ???

why is there xp police now im scared  ::)
lol
i know thats its the most popular choice for jukebox conversion and
the mame arcade guys as for illegal you can cut your own xp pro down
to tiny xp which isnt illegal and microsoft are not going to support
xp for much longer so as i said its ideal for a stand alone jukebox
or arcade machine dont see the point of purchasing windows 7
for each project you do that would not be complete madness unless
you got money to burn also 7 is far to good to use for juke projects
so its waisted and does have issues with setting up with admin probs
there is a tiny 7 but its pants
i have converted many pub jukeboxs all with tiny xp and
they run spoton been using it for years

@John- its not that i'm scared, lol!

but if was to go pro with building jukeboxes i wouldn't be able to use illegal softwares. Therefore i don't when home building. plus i liike to support the people that make softwares and such (like our boy steve) by paying for things.

but again i see your point. Xp wont be supported for all that much longer by microsoft.

@doxy4000

Yes you can do it all without an internet connetion. I never tried it myself.
When i last was looking at doing it steve pointed me in the direction of a forum member called Baltesch i think.....
But i decided it was easier to just run a cat5 extention to the jukebox for registration .

tiny xp is only illegal if you download it of another source but if you create
your own its not a problem and yes i also support at least 3 different jukebox
software developers and pay my way allways

you just got to relax alittle on some so called rules/laws

as for internet connection i only used that on network juke systems
talking of which anybody tried vjb on a wireless network

gon back to my reg juke software until vjb updates some stuff
on the wish list because some of my music genres are so huge
and pageing through these is a nightmare and the cue system
is a prob for me and the play full album i do realy miss that also

but ill be watching out see whats happens
 ;D

yeah i had already clocked you as a traitor john. lol

iv seen the etouch forums.

I myself see VJB as the way forward.

Just to confirm , does the ipac work with win 7 and VB???

and what does the ipac have that KIM doesn't?? i've never used ipac. i think it may be in some of the ICON jukeboxes i use at work??

been with etouch for some years nice software very helpfull forum
i think all these guys which ever the software is great what they do
and its thanks to these dudes there is a choice

etouch is spoton for massive collections and big choice of controls
my only downer with this software is closing it down to update

vjb its realy nice and simple very much a look of old sound leisure
juke no confusing tags to deal with and the import/export is brilliant
and the second screen options are the best
the main downer its not great for big collections i mean mine are big
so when i have to go back to the beggining its a bummer more so when
ive had to many beers others find it a downer also

silverjuke find the right skin and spend along time setting it up is worth it
and the sound quality is the best ive heard but to get anywere near the
look of vjb or etouch is not possible but its ok for a basic machine

also as a builder of jukeboxes i use different  types  on different units
if you check out jukebox45s website im the one who builds
them and as you will see they use sj and thats what looks better on
them ive tried other software on them and it loses the stylish look

what would be cool in a dream world would be to put
the two together and have the perfect juke software

look a flying pig

but all these guys which ever the sight/forum we should be thankful for and not knock them for it
