advice on UPS's for my jukes
« on: September 02, 2012, 02:10:44 PM »
hey guys another question for everyone........whats the deal with uninterupted power supplies??

my jukes are starting to have issues loading XP after they have been unplugged by users etc at parties and venues...we are getting some that wont boot and i have boot with xp cd and run recovery console chkdsk /r to repair them.

I thinking the only way to stop this happening is to install a UPS to the comp so that the machine can safely shutdown on a backup battery if the power cord is unplugged.

I'm thinking i'd only need a single supply for PC only, so when/if its unplugged at the mains the screen and speaker will turn off making it look like the juke is off but the computer will actually still be running and i believe XP has an option to shutdown automatically once UPS has taken over.???!!!

Does anyone have any more info on this.....or a better idea??

i wouldnt go spending your cash on these gizmos i think if you download a copy of tiny xp
all your problems should go away i use the relay set up when i do a home use jukebox
were its not likely to get bad treatment i put tiny on for the jukes that might get heavy
handed treatment by public use so should do the job
