internet radio as bgm
« on: December 16, 2011, 11:22:04 AM »
Hi I am trying to have Magic FM as my BGM, but cannot find the right feed to put into one of the presets,
the presets that are already filled in work ok but anything I put in does not,

I have tried the following link
http://ukradioplayer.magic.co.uk/console/
If I paste it into the address bar of my browser it works fine, but if I place it in JBP preset this does not work,

Can anyone give me the right link or any other suggestions,
Many thanks, Len

If check this list here:- http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/mp3.asp

Hi there,
Thank you for your help I now have Magic FM (EXCELLENT)
Unfortunatley I do still have a minor problem if you can help me please. It works great with the radio all the time the jbp records play right through to the end and as it ends the radio cuts back in as it should,
If you have selected several records on the jbp you can reject as many as you like but if you reject the last record in your playlist instead of getting the radio back the jbp starts adding random tracks from the jbp to the counter in the status menu but doesnt play anything (this only happens when the last track is rejected). If you clear the list it starts adding tracks again before you can even get off the status page (at this stage I have already turned BGM off but it still keeps adding tracks).
The only way I can get my radio back on is to close jbp and restart it, all is then back to normal until I make the mistake of rejecting the last one and then it all starts all over again.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing jbp but no difference, this is only a minor glitch but if there is a solution it would be good,
Many thanks, regards
Len

Hi len

You say it adds tracks to the queue before you even get off the status page,  does it add more than 1 track to the queue straight away ?.

Hi there,
Yes it adds them at a rate of about 1 every second and keeps adding them until I shut down and restart then all is back to normal, weird is'nt it.
Thanks

Len

The problem is that you are trying to add a 'multicast' url to the preset box, in other words, the url you are entering has more than 1 radio station in it, and it is overloading JBP with too many stations. (be carefull multicasts could crash jbp)

Ok, to fix it, only use urls that just have 1 station in them,
Or, I can tell you how to extract urls from a multicast file if you like.

Hi Steve,
I'm affraid I'm a little bit thick when it comes to "multicast url" what ever that is lol,
I just copied and pasted the
"http://icy-e-01.sharp-stream.com/magic1054.mp3.m3u
address you sent me in the answer to my original problem which got the radio working.

If you can tell me how to extract the bit I need excellent (but your need to go slow, 1 bit at a time or I WILL get lost, lol), look forward to hearing back soon, regards
Len

Hi Steve,
thanks but no sorry still not the one,
All I'm doing is playing the link your sending me in media player, opening another internet explorer and entering    http://ukradioplayer.magic.co.uk/console/     into the address bar so both play together (the link is Magic 105.4).
It allows me to tell straight away, thanks for all your efforts,
regards
Len

Hi Steve,
Tried pasting the url's you sent, yes they play a radio station but not Magic 105.4.

The original one appears to be the one, just can't reject the last track on JBP

Many thanks, regards
