Turning off keys on the remote
« on: May 14, 2012, 12:32:02 PM »
Hey guys, i havent tried it yet but i think i know what i have to do................tonight i hired a jukebox out to a footy club for 1 month and gave the client  the remote to keep hold of as i left. He asked me what all the buttons did and i explained them all except the +100 button which will obviously gives them free credits and i dont want that.

Just curious, if i used a keyboard remapper could i change the +100 button (or any button)
to a differnt key on the keyboard so it wouldnt give free credits anymore.

essentially the only buttons that need to work are:
volume +/-
power off
mute
mode/close juke
reject.

If it works i'm going to make my own decal/skin that goes over the top of the original buttons and covers up the ones that dont do anything.

Hi Stampy

That is already taken care of, just read the documentation that came with your Coin Kit, you can disable remote credits.  ;D

Ps: I would also advise you to change the pin number from the default (1234) to prevent your punters from disabling the remote by accident.

Disable remote credits      (repeat procedure to re-enable remote credit)

1.   Hold down the ‘Service’ button on your Coin Kit Board.
2.   While still holding down the ‘Service’  button, plug in the USB lead from your computer.
3.   When the blue led light comes on, release the button.

The option has now been set in Coin Kit memory.

Change pin number

1.   Hold down both the ‘Credit’ & ‘Service’ buttons on your Coin Kit Board.
2.   While still holding down both buttons, plug in the USB lead from your computer.
3.   When the blue led light comes on, release buttons and then enter a new four digit pin.

Note: only digits 1 to 9 can be used (Not zero ‘0’).

The pin number has now been set in Coin Kit memory.
