Title: Need help with Installation
Post by: Secrets on April 20, 2012, 12:42:45 PM
After downloading VBX.exe my antivirus warned me that this may be malicious file but I ignored that and clicked tried to install anyway. When I clicked on RUN I got the following error message: Chikat Log: Unzip to file: Failed to read compressed data. Failed to find file marker. When I clicked OK on the error message nothing happened and the programme did not install. I also downloaded the manual but that won’t open either. Not a great start!

There is nothing wrong with th curent version, This is to do with either your windows or your antivirus interfearing with the files you have downloaded.

Disable antivirus, check that windows has notr blocked the file (right click, properties)

After trying again and failing again I read somewhere that the license was only valid for one pc so since I didn't want it on my laptop anyway I decided to wait until I got my all in one touchscreen which is where I want it installed.

So today my brand new all in one touchscreen, (specially purchased just for videobox) arrived. It is running XP. Videobox is the first program that I have downloaded on this machine and I am still getting the same error message. I have downloaded it three times now, once with chrome, once with explorer, I have also tried in safe mode.

I would appreciate some help here.

Hi Secrets

If you are getting a message saying you need a license then all you need to do is request it by fcompleting the license request form at the end of installation.

I am not even getting the downloaded file to install at all: As I pointed out at the beginning a couple of weeks ago, the message I got then and the message I'm getting now on a brand new machine are exactly the same: Chikat Log: Unzip to file: Failed to read compressed data. This is driving me nuts!

Ah, ok it sounds like you have a corrupted download, tell you what, I will set up a alternate download location for you to download the package again, just wait a few minutes and I will send you an email with a new download location.

OK, I was using chrome and now I've switched to firefox and their server appears to be fine, so I'm downloading it now and will let you know how it goes.
