Hi Wim

Yes it is a hard one, I do not think this is a problem of Videobox (because nobody else has this problem), I think it is either the .NET Framework or a Windows problem.

Do you have any anti-virus programs on there ?.

Steve,

I have AVG antivirus running.
I disabled it but it didn't solve the issue.
Can I try to install a copy of VideoBox on another PC?

Thanks,

Wim.

Steve,

I installed VideoBox on another PC and the problem/issue is still there.

As on the install on the 1th PC, there was no window showing an install/repair option after selecting: Install Net Framework. I had good hopes when I noticed that the error message didn't show up on start up.
I played 1 track (without changing standard settings.) and waited untill it stopped. Starting a diiferent track made the first track play again, followed by the 2nd.

Are you sure I am the only one seeing this?

Thanks,

Wim.

Hi Wim

Yes you are the only one with this problem I have never seen this issue before.
I am wondering if this is something regional with windows, what copy of Windows do you have ?.

Steve,

Both systems: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Dutch language package.
The 1th PC I installed VideoBox on was bought last Saturday, so it must be rather "clean".

I did select "Nederlands" (Dutch) when asked for during setup of VideoBox.

Thanks,

Wim.

Hmm, I dont know then, the only thing that is diffrent is the language but I cannot see how that would make any diffrence.

Did you install both 32 & 64 bit flash player ?.

You can try to install flash again, it will tell you if it is already installed.

If your windows is a new install you can try experiment with diffrent installs, try 32bit insted of 64, try english lang insted of Dutch maybe.

Steve,

I installed VideoBox on a 32 bit Vista PC. I had good hopes, since, when selecting the Net Framework setup, I was asked if I wanted to repair it. Everything went fine and as in the manual. Adobe Flash Player was installed as 32 bit version.
To my surprise the problem is still there.

I talked to a colegue in the US, and he played VideoBox while discussing my problem over the phone. He doesn't see my problem, so it is definitive only on my PC's. Do you have Dutch customers who run a Dutch Windows? I am starting to think that that is the only option we have left.

Thanks,

Wim.

I was starting to think that it might be a windows regional problem, but I think we do have VBX users in your country, I do not knoe if they have Dutch language copy of Windows though ?.

I dont understand why the language should make any diffrence, this is verry odd.

Steve,

I am considering to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. This enables running in different regions and languages.

Can you ask around and see if it is worth the money ? In case you have customers running a Dutch Win7 it might not solve the problem.

Thanks,

Wim.

Wim

If you intend to run only VBX on the target PC is it worth upgrading to Ultimate ?, why not just use XP or better Vista 32bit.

If you will use the PC for other things as well as VBX then I guess it might be worthwhile to upgrade, I use Vista ultimate and I find it works fine for everything, I personally do not like windows 7.
