deleting .config file
« on: October 15, 2012, 02:53:59 AM »
Hey guys sorry if this has been answered before......my remote is not doing anything again but the coin kit is ok from what i can tell.

light is still flashing and stops flashing when i press a button on the remote, however nothing actually happen to the program when a buitton is pressed. ie: volume up or down, shut down etc.

Just wondering if i delete the config file and start again will it fix it, and how do i delete it if i dont have an internet connection on my jukebox to download bry's tool???

Hi stampy69

As far as I'm aware the config file has nothing to do with Coin Kit.
From what you say it does sound like Coin Kit is working ok, are you sure your jukebox program has focus ? (ie VBX is on top with no other programs running), it could be that the keypresses are going to some other program maybe ?.

yeah i thought that at first too, but its definately main focus.

I even tried the coin kit in another machine it did the same thing. Not having much luck with these things :)

Maybe it needs new batteries in the remote.

Yes, I guess it could be the batteries but in my remote they have lasted for ages, I suppose it depends how much you use it.
If the the led stops flashing when you press the remote button then that says to me that its getting a signal from the remote, what happens if you press the buttons on the Coin Kit board ? do they work?.

If you have more than one remote, can you try another remote with the Coin Kit ?.

If you have another Coin Kit, can you try the offending remote with another board ?.

I think it was just the batteries mate, i put new ones in and its fine now.

Curious though, i've been using a usb numpad and a key remapper so i have buttons on the back of the juke. I thought that maybe it had done something funny so i uninstalled the remapper software before i did the battery change.

I wonder if it had something to do with it??
