Title: zip files wont play

hey guys any ideas why i cant get any zipps to play??

they come up in the folder and i can click them to select singer but once i press play nothing happens............no countdown no music or words.

I know the files are all good as i use them everynight on my other karaoke machine.

If they're unzipped they play, but i'm not about to unzip 8000 songs and put them back into folders.

also and not always i've had the occasional error mag pop up sating file extension cant be played....they're all .cdg i chose to ignore the pop up and now some cdg files dont work either.

Hi Stampy69

It could be that both the files inside your zip dont have the same 'identical' name as your zip folder...

if your zip folder was - Fame.zip, then it should contain 2 files, Fame.cdg & Fame.mp3.

nah its not that.........as i said i use these files every night for my karaoke shows at pubs. (pcdj karaoki)

thats why i was surprised when they wouldnt load.

i'll try and investigate it some more.

I should get internet on one of these machines and let you guys remote into one to have a looksy :)

Do the fake test zipped files that come with KJX work ok ?

yeah mate just extracted all 98 songs in the "A" folder so they're not zipped anymore and everyone of them works now.

98 down.....7900 to go!!!

sorry steve i deleted the fake tests when i uploaded all my other songs and catagories:(

If you send one of your non-working zips to me I should be able to tell you whats wrong ?.

Hi Stampy

I have checked the zip-file you sent to me and the problem is just as I said, your filenames dont match your zip folder name, they look the same at a glance, but if you look a little closer the cdg & mp3 filenames have a SPACE character in front of them.

ahhhhh ok, thats an easy fix then.

I'll rename them all and try again........funny that they work on my other program. :)
