BIOS Power functions can affect Coin Kit startup
« on: May 12, 2013, 05:49:58 PM »
Hi all just for ur info, I have been having problems with a coin kit not starting up every tine when the pc is turned on
after investigation it turns out that not only does the computer BIOS usb settings have an affect on CK startup but I found that some of th BIOS powers saving functions also play a role and can stop or suspend ur Coin Kit from running
this computer has a modern motherboard so I did not expect these problems but after tinkerin with the bios power functions my Coin Kit is now happily starting up every time :-).
I also notice d that windows has its own set of power settings in the windows control panel->power, I also set these functions to disabled.

hope this helps anyone with similar problems :-)

Must confess

I'm interested in this too, just noticed it on my test laptop.

I thought I changed legacy usb support on other test machine, I maybe wrong though, I will attempt to investigate further also

Hi
I have the same problem.
I tried everything to resolve it but nothing.
I tried with 3 differents computers (an old and two recents). I tried all posibilities in bios menu and i got the same result :
I have to disconnect and reconnct the device each time i reboot the computer.
If someone got a solution, please tell me about.
Thanks
