Singles mode
« on: June 25, 2011, 10:21:25 PM »
Ok firstly i started using media monkey. And find it very very useful.
But now Id like to see an option for singles .
Currently i have my music organised as (thanks to media monkey)
JBP/GENRE/TITLE/ARTIST-TITLE.mp3
And the title card screen is no longer required.
It allows me to show off the singles artworks to my now Cds and the like.
It allows each track to appear in the popular tracks too whereas ,currently if we have two tracks on the same album that are popular only the one icon appears on the popular tracks section. (i cud be wrong on that one )
This also solves the title card issue im having with a few track names.
So to conclude id really like an option to do away with the title card screen all together.??
Wat do u guys think?? 8)

with you on this one dj i also asked for this some weeks ago
but the main thing for me is the lack of sound quality

i have a load of video singles in there own folders with tags and jpg
took a very long time to sort them [months] so im i dont want to
put these in any other order as you can understand just looks
poor when you open it and theres one label on the page thats
why i dont use vjb with videos

Give media monkey a go john!
But be careful with it.
It can do damage if you dont use it properly.
I myself found it quite straight forward to use though.

With the sound issue ..it really doesnt seem a major issue for me. It seems to differ dramatically depending on the hardware you use .
Im getting more than decent sound through my onboard sound hooked up to an old marantz amp and acoustic solutions speakers.
When i hook up my onkyo surround sound setup with mission speakers it sounds pretty pants tho.
The onkyo gives great sound usually.?
But i just use the marantz setup.

Back again
If it wasnt possible to have a setting to skip the title screen, would it be possible to have more information shown on the title card??
Maybe a small artwork jpeg and the genre to go with the title ??

Hi guys

I've looked at this thread a couple of times now but I still dont understand this wish, what is the "title screen" ?, why would you need more info on the title card like genre etc when it shows a picture of the category you are browsing at the top ?, also I dont undersatnd what this means.."just a large title card instead of a little one on its own", sorry for my ignorance and confusion guys, I guess I just dont understand, feel free to embellish on your ideas..

Basically were talking about a singles mode.
Currently i have my music organised as jbp/genre/artist/artist - title.mp3
And as i said above this allows for every track to have its own album art. I prefer it this way because it allows me to rip cds like the various now collections and not have repetitive album arts.
Now ... Once ive chosen the single i want to play im presented with a page which shows only 1 track. This is the screen we have been calling the title card screen.
What were sayin here is , is this one track title card screen really needed?
Only because it now seems an uneeded extra tap to perform the song choice.

Hi Guys
Iv been Lookin at this thread again after some time away and i thin we should have a little more information on the title card screen? The titlecard screen would then become more useful and could become more of necessity. Maybe this screen could display genre, track time , release date/year , album art and it could also be a place to put the play all feature a few of us asked for??

Greetings  ;D

Just been following the thread and thought I would pitch-in, I think the 'play full album button' idea may be good, but it would be a headache to impliment for coin-op mode, what are your thoughts on that ?, would it nick all your credit to play a full album ?, would playing a full album be acceptable ?, wouldn't it put others off using the jukebox if they only hear 1 artist for half an hour ?, should it only work in window & party mode ? etc etc etc.

Unfortunatly I don't think a singles mode is do'able in the current release, there are a number of boring reasons for this, but It might be possible in a future V3+ version.

As you know I always look in the wish list when deciding what features we can impliment, so keep em coming.  ;D

Hi steve
My nsm cd juke does the play all feature by typing in the cd number then 00.
For Example. 2100. Would play all of album 21. And yes it does take all your credits.
Mostly these cd jukes have compilation albums , soundtracks and various artist cds , so tracks all from one artist doesn't generally happen.
So coild we not assign a keypress to the play all feature? Then have the keypress only in party and windowed mode. Similar to how the reject button works, but display it on the pop-on screen play window. Maybe this is the way togo??
Back on topic though, singles mode?
As i said it was really the titlescard screen which was an issue for me as we can already setup vbox to work with singles via the way we set our mp3 libraries.
But i would like to see more info on the titlecard itself. That would help fill the page when theres only one track in a folder.? ???
