Hello,
I am having a crack at pub juke.
I created a music update and loaded it onto my machine, all good there.
I just tested with 20 mp4 files and they only had 1 genre tag... Christmas.
On the jukebox, when i click the Christmas Genre, i am presented with a default image "Pub Juke Favourites".
I clik on that, and then all the tracks are listed.
Is it possible to configure the software so that when I click the Genre "Christmas" (and at a later date any other category) I am then presented with the music in that genre? (not sure the place holder is there, its like its defaulting to a sub genre of Christmas.....)
Actaully the Genre is called "Xmas & Kids" could it be the "&" symbol causing this?

Hi tigerpie
I would like to help but i dont understand your question ???...
-
Hi Steve,
I hve attached some pictures.
Pic1 is what i see when the jukebox starts up.
Pic2 is what I see after i click the Xmas category.
Pic3 is what I see after I click the "Pub Jukebox Favorites" "category"....
I would like to know if i Have done something wrong, or how i can set up the jukebox so I click the Xmas category, and then I am presented with the music contained withing the Xmas category.
Hopefully that explains it better :-)

It looks like your track tags are screwed-up, you may have set a sub-genre and you have missing titles and images.
I would go back and check the track tags, subgenre & images...

Hi Steve,
I double checked the tag and everything looks OK as far as I can see.
I have attached 2 screen shots of the Easy Tagger program.
I havent attached an image as yet as I dont have all my images. I am still waiting on collating them.
Cheers Steve

It could be the '&' symbol as thats an illegal character in windows, also the the word 'Xmas' is a special genre, you can turn the Xmas genre on/off in settings...
-
Cheers Steve,
I will change the Genre and see if that sorts it.
In regards to changing the Tags.
Do i have to delete the files of the jukebox and then update the jukebox. OR can i simply replace the files.
Or do i just change the tags, make another update and then update the jukebox and it over writes the existing files?
Cheers Steve

If the files are on your local pc just retag them and re-scan
If the files are on a jukebox you can delete them from (YourMusicFolder\Imported Music\) and update the jukebox again with re-tagged files
If you get stuck let me know asap and i will take a look for you, im here untill about 1pm...

Hi Steve,
Tried a few different ways.
The files are scrambled an on a jukebox. We have 1 PC we will use for updates, and another PC with the jukebox we are testing with.
I coped the files off the jukebox and re tagged them with easy tagger.
I then copied the "new" files over the top of the old files and started the pubjuke and nothing had changed.
I then went into the admin seciton and did a rescan. this didnt change anything either.
So i deleted the music files via the engineer screen, and copied the "new" files into the music section\imported music folder and again did a rescan. But same thing as my original question.
I did change the Genre to "Xmas and Kids". I also renamed the thumbnail to match.
so not sure what to do now.
I will do another update with another category of music and see if it happens.
FWIW i originally tagged the music using "MP3TAG" as this allows you to tag .mp4 files as well, and do multiple files at a time, whereas with the easy tagger it seems I can only do 1 file at a time.
After I used MP3 tag, i checked the tags in Easy Tagger and they where all good.
when I retagged the music this time around, I just used Easy Tagger.
