Title: limiting song selection que
Post by: stampy69 on September 02, 2012, 02:02:31 PM
hey just wondering if its possible to set a limit on the amount of songs that be queued in the playlist......i hired a machine last night and apparently after about 50 songs had been queued the computer started to run very slow and eventually paused....had to be rebooted.

its a dual core 2.8ghz, 2 gig ram, which i thought would be ample for videobox but apparently not.

we only have videobox installed on this machine with xp and few little programs like winrar and media player.

maybe it wasnt the amount of songs loaded that killed it but it got me thinking.....at a typical tiny bopper party all the little kids would load song after song then i guess a host or birthday girl/boy would come along and have to reject each song till theirs came up.

if this was limited to say 10 max it'd makes things a lot easier :)

I realise this is an old post but surely the software can accommodate more than 10 songs in the queue, it's not like it's playing 10 songs at once so I can't see the queue taking up resources??  I see this is the limit in my licensed copy of VideoBox but can I override or remove this limit this please, perhaps in the config file?  I am looking to install a paywave unit on the machine to allow $5 for 6 songs and I'm concerned a 3rd+ customer doing this in a row will not be able to queue up their songs, is that right?   Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.

There's no limit to the amount of songs you can have in the queue with Videobox by default, you can limit the queue though if you want to by clicking the limit button in the Videobox control panel -> interface options.

Thanks Steve, I will check it out!  The Queue limit must be on in my settings as it was a dropdown with 10 max.  Glad to hear it can be turned off.  Cheers AL
