Open Pi Jukebox menu with the TAB key on your keyboard, then click the button that says 'Scan Music Files' and select your music folder, all of your files will be scanned and then will be ready to use, here's a video tutorial to watch:- https://youtu.be/6fe4aGfqFMg?si=Z40oqYXkJ2YjsBrB

Pi Jukebox / Pi Jukebox not finding MP3
« Last post by klideb99 on December 17, 2023, 12:22:31 AM »
I am having problems with the software finding the MP3s.  I have them in my music folder of my raspberry PI 4.  I used Picard to get all the music tagged properly.  I have restarted the PI and restarted the software and still has not found any music.  Did I miss something or is there a way to have jukeblaster look for a  folder?

Thanks for the reply! I do not have any hardware yet. That's why I asked before buying.

Hi Josh, sounds like there might be something wrong with your music file, it could be the wrong type, is it an mp3 or a mp4 ?, or it could be that the file tags are wrong, have you looked at the tags for any illegal characters etc ?...

Pi Jukebox / Pi JukeBox App keeps closing.
« Last post by JoshR on November 17, 2023, 03:53:13 AM »
The issue I am having is everytime I try to play a music file the Pi Jukebox app closes. Here is a little bit of information on my step up, I have the Raspberry Pi 4 B+ 4G, official Raspberry Pi touch screen and case, Samsung Micro SD card. I originally installed the 64 bit OS and it would not even open, so I tried the 32 bit OS and it just immediately closes when I try to play a music file. Not really savy with all this, recently just got started. Can someone please give me some pointers and or suggestions to get me on the right path? Thanks in advance!

Sounds interesting, this will help others, what was the exception and what did you change to correct it ?.

Thanks Steve for your reply. I found the issue. It’s an unhandled exception that I was able to correct through changes in the Operating System. So you are correct, it’s not an 'obvious bug’ at all, it’s just an 'obvious deficiency' in the code that could be rectified to improve the program.

Sorry for being so naive and thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

xzotic, it's not an "obvious bug" at all, just because you both have the same problem doesn't mean that its a problem with PJ, let me explain...
Most people (who are not programmers) don't understand that their operating system (windows) is not foolproof or bug free, they assume that because windows seems to be working ok that it must be the program they are trying to run that must be at fault, this is naive boomer thinking, its like when your dad used to thump the top of the TV when reception was bad, If you look back at my conversation with shorty you will see that I offered him help, I asked him to send me some of his music files to inspect, he refused, saying that he knew better and that his files couldn't be at fault!, there's no way to help someone that refuses to cooperate...
