USB Interface Chip     (Part number pic18f4550)
The USB Interface Chip (USB IC) is designed to
offer a cheap and simple way for the hobbyist who
wants to make a JukeBox that can accept coins
using the Juke Blaster Pro Software
(software supplied separately).
The USB IC enables you to connect your
Juke Blaster Pro software to the outside world
via the USB port on your Computer.
You can connect.....................
A mechanical coin switch or electronic coin acceptor. (Gives credit to play songs)
A track reject button. (Stops the current playing music track by fading it out)
A cash door switch (Displays the settings menu when activated)
A status l.e.d (Flashes to indicate USB IC is working)
Plug & Play, once you have attached leads/switches etc to your USB IC, simply plug it into your PC's USB socket and it will be recognised, no drivers to install
(Windows Vista & XP).
No power supply is required for the USB IC to work (safe to handle), low power is obtained from the PC's USB socket.
This is an easy, fun weekend project that a novice could undertake, requiring only a handful of additional readily available parts to get you going (see diagram).
