Pi Jukebox / Re: Pi Jukebox trial version ignores video files (MP4)
« Last post by Steve on February 19, 2025, 09:50:50 PM »
Hi mike, I always try to reply quickly if i'm at my computer but Unfortunately there's no chance of any patches or anything at the moment as our Bry is away...
After thinking about your problem for a bit it might be that you have a problem with your files because Pi Jukebox will play mp4 audio in the basic/trial versions, it just doesn't show the video, so i think thre's something up with your mp4's maybe ?.
Also, a couple of other things...
1. I dont know if your Pi 400 will work, although it works the same as a Pi4 it might report itself as a Pi400 when registering and would not work, I dont know this for sure as I've never tried it but its something to considder.
2. Pi jukebox uses its own rendering/playing engine so it will definatley NOT play at anything like 1024 or 768, its only for little screens like the Pi 7".

Hope that helps  ;D

Steve, thanks for your prompt reply...

Could you supply a 'patched' version of the professional Pi Jukebox software, whereby it expires in say a week, so that I can determine myself whether to purchase it or stick with the 'Home' version?

I currently run my Pi 400 desktop at 1024 x 768 and it looks great on a standard VGA monitor or TV.

I am also using the included VNC software on the Pi with an app RVNC Viewer on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet to remote control the Pi Jukebox.  This is working out quite well and simulates a touch screen jukebox.

Any chance of a 'patched' Professional Pi Jukebox to play with?

Thanks

Hi mike, I'm not sure if you can load mp4's in the trial or if its something wrong, I would have to ask our bry about that one.
As for playing MP4's I can tell you that you wont be able to output to a tv or big screen, its only for small (low res) screens like the official Pi 7" screen etc.

Hi, It's been a while ...

I am re-evaluating the trial PI Jukebox and am impressed to the point of deciding whether to purchase a license for the Home or Professional software option.

My current 'trial' Pi Jukebox software (downloaded within the last 2 weeks) does not load MP4 video files, even after tagging them.  I can see the catalog.xml file generated but no video tiles appear on the Pi Jukebox screen to play them.  Is there a setting or run-time parameter available to allow mp4 files to be tested?

Up to now, I have been playing music videos via VLC on both Fire TV sticks and an Androiod TV using an SMB connection.  This works well especially using video file playlists.

I'd like to test the Pi Jukebox playing videos to see whether I really need the option to play videos as well as music mp3 files.

Thanks.

Pub Jukebox / NSM evolution stuck on white loading screen
« Last post by kevstaruk12555 on February 18, 2025, 04:54:22 PM »
Hi, i recently bought a NSM evolution jukebox which was running on windows XP using AlbumPlayer as the software, it had been converted so does not have the original mobo (epia m10000) inside, the hard drive was corrupted and would not boot.

I have managed to get an original NSM hard drive with the original NSM software on it, i have connected this to the mobo using IDE cable and it boots up fine, but it get stuck on the loading screen and say's (TO CHANGE THE I.P ADDRESS PLEASE CONNECT COMMUNICATION)

would this be because it does not have the original EPIA M10000 MOBO installed ? or would there be another reason or way i can get it to boot.

i have added some pictures of the problem and the mobo that is installed. (not it shows a SATA cable in the pics, but this was before i connected the HDD with IDE cable)

Any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks Kev

Videobox / Re: Karaoke words to show on 2nd screen?
« Last post by Steve on February 11, 2025, 11:31:47 AM »
Hi johnno, could be a few things...
The karaoke file type must be .cdg (mp3+g)
The .cdg filename must match exactly the filename of the matching mp3 (cAsE sensitive)
People have reported that the second screen output does not work well with hdmi, use vga instead.

Pi Jukebox / Re: Navigation menu / buttons

Hi lupold, Pi Jukebox has two different interface screen's that you can choose from, one is for home/casual use, the other is a more kiosk style.

Hi All,

Could someone please let me know or post a screen of the Pi jukebox? I see the layout in the youtube videos use a right/left button.
In the movie / advertisement it shows something way different.

Thanks!
